I often get all kinds of questions about our super-dog, Bernie. People are fascinated by the fact that we have a St. Bernard. The two most common questions I get are: How much does he eat? (Surprisingly, not very much. About the same as any lab or medium sized dog.) and How much does he weigh? (150 lbs!) I’ve decided to dedicate a page on my blog to our super-dog, Bernie. Here you will be able to find pictures, fun tidbits about St. Bernards and some fun stories about how great our dog is. I hope you enjoy!
Why Bernie is so super:
-
Bernie does not chew on anything other than his pork flavored rawhides.
-
Bernie expends all his energy about twice a week in 5 minute sessions of being chased around the back yard.
-
Bernie gives kisses!
-
Bernie is awesome to snuggle with!
-
Bernie has learned to give hugs! For a long time when Cody would hug me, Bernie thought Cody was hurting me (not sure why), and would bark and try to protect me. Recently Bernie has learned that hugs are good and has started to think that he is missing out on some snuggle time. When Cody is hugging me, Bernie comes over to us and jumps up, putting his arms around our waists and pushing his head in underneath our arms so that he can get in on the action. It is quite possibly the cutest thing ever!
